Heather Smith, RDN, CSR, LD, CLT
Registered Dietitian, Kidney Nutrition Specialist, and Certifed LEAP Therapist
I work with adults to identify food sensitivities, achieve decreased inflammatory symptoms, strengthen immune function, and shed excess weight, with personalized service tailored to each individual’s needs. I also help people with chronic kidney disease to maintain kidney health.
My Story
I’ve been a registered dietitian for close to 25 years, but I haven’t always taken nutrition for myself and my family seriously. I started my private practice in 2021 because I wanted to help people with chronic kidney disease maintain kidney health, but quickly began receiving requests for other types of nutrition therapy. Since then, I have counseled many people to make changes in their diets that have helped them overcome chronic health conditions and debilitating symptoms. I myself have lost 30 pounds using SHAPE ReClaimed, significantly improving my sleep apnea, gut health, energy level, and general outlook on life. Thankfully my husband chose to take the journey with me, and he too has revolutionized his health because of that one choice. I’m a certified specialist in renal nutrition, a certified LEAP therapist, and a SHAPE ReClaimed certified practitioner, and I would love the opportunity to help you on your path to health.
My Philosophy
Our amazing Creator made our bodies to function on the delicious fuel we call food. Our taste for real food can be corrupted by the array of processed food available to us, but it is possible to change our preferences by making better choices. Many chronic health conditions are brought on because of the foods we eat and their long-term effects on our bodies, which can result in our reliance on medication to control those conditions. Consuming a healthy diet of real food is not a guarantee that we won’t suffer with chronic disease, but it does make our chances of being healthy and living longer much greater. All of the services I offer in my practice are rooted in my belief that a whole foods diet is best for everyone, no matter the health conditions they are faced with. If you are ready for real change but don’t know where to start, I hope you’ll reach out.
